Ceramic welding rebuilds the refractory of the furnace superstructure while it is hot. A specially designed powder is sprayed with a flow of oxygen: the heat of the reaction turns it into a solid ceramic mass that bonds to the original block. From the inside, it rebuilds and protects worn areas; from the outside, it seals joints and cracks.

We work on glass furnace superstructures from the inside and the outside, with our own welding machines, high-purity powders and qualified teams. Before each job, a site visit or a review of your drawings lets us design the right lances, in close contact with your teams.
Unique know-how and materials, right inside your furnace.
Made in-house by IRF, our cooled lances spray the refractory powder right inside the furnace. They are shaped for each area of the superstructure, for a precise repair without cooling the furnace.
From the outside, ceramic welding is mainly used to seal expansion joints, on new furnaces after heat-up as well as on furnaces in production. It also repairs minor external damage.
Wherever your furnace is, our qualified teams respond quickly, for planned work and emergencies alike.
